"Outcast"
by Chris VanderHart
Watercolor & Ink, 11" x 14", on Arches 140 lb. HP
It was an overcast Up North day; I was returning from a plein air outing, and decided to
take an alternate route through some small towns. Spotted this old building, and this
monochromatic sketch / Ink drawing developed. Nice way to spend an afternoon!

Spitting Llama
" Spitting Llama"
by Chris VanderHart
Pencil 6" x 9" on Arches 140 lb. Hot Press
A beautiful day for a bit of outdoor work. Had planned to make a painting, but
the wind and terrain limited the media, so I settled for a drawing. Papa Llama was not
happy with the presence of humans, even though we were across the road and quiet. He kept an aggressive posture and displayed his feelings with hissing and spitting, until he became bored and wandered into a shady out building to rest.

Easy Chair
Easy Chair
Watercolor & Ink, 9" x 14"
on Arches 140 lb. Hot Press
This one comes straight from my heart and soul! As a child, all I did was draw horses, write horse stories, create illustrated books about horses, played with toy horses, and generally lived in a cowboy / english riding fantasy world. Subject is Ward, the wrangler /
owner of the riding stable at Spring Creek Ranch, Jackson, WY. Had the best trail ride of my life there recently.
